Lorele Vanzant, Ed.D., LMFT, LPC
Dr. Lorele Vanzant is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, Licensed Professional Counselor, and Certified
CISD/CISM. She received her Doctorate of Education degree in Counseling Psychology from the Texas A&M-Commerce,
Masters degree in Educational Psychology, and Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Texas at El Paso
(UTEP). Dr. Vanzant is an adjunct instructor at Amberton University.
New to the Minirth Clinic, she has thirty years experience in psychotherapy, public speaking, professional
organization, and church leadership. Counseling specialties include: marriage counseling, blended families,
teenagers/children, ADD/ADHD, chemical and sexual addiction, sexual abuse, eating disorders, and depression. She is
a certified group psychotherapy leader. For a decade she has led on-going didactic/experiential grief workshops at
Prestonwood Baptist in Plano.
From 1980 through 2004 Dr. Vanzant maintained a private practice in Dallas. She also worked part-time as a
counselor at HopeWorks Counseling. In 1976, relocating to Dallas, she taught in the El Paso Independent School
District. While pursuing her doctorate, she was employed as a Special Education H/S Coordinator with the DISD.
Later, she became a Title One Coordinator, and ARD Team Liaison between the DISD, Baylor and Timberlawn Psychiatric
Hospitals. An approved LPC and LMFT supervisor, Dr. Vanzant is a member of AACC, AGPS, and AAMFT.
