Robert Larry Gilliam, Ed.D., Ph.D.
Dr. Gilliam hold a Bachelors Degree in Education and Bible, a Masters Degree in Counseling, a Doctor of
Education Degree in Educational Psychology, and two Ph.D.’s in related fields of counseling.
He is a certified teacher, a certified school counselor, a licensed professional counselor, a licensed clinical
pastoral counselor, a certified disability analyst, a certified victim chaplain, and is an approved supervisor of
L.P.C. interns.
Dr. Gilliam has more than thirty-five years experience as a counselor, an educator, and a minister. He has
practiced in a variety of settings, including schools, churches, colleges, universities, family counseling centers,
clinics, and psychiatric hospitals.
He is a frequent speaker at conferences, retreats, seminars, and professional meetings. He is known for the
effective use of music, humor, and “homespun illustrations” in his presentations. He is also host of the talk radio
program, “Choices,” and author of the recent publication, Reparenting: A Re-opportunity to Hove A Happy
Childhood.
He and his wife, Glenda, have lived in Irving, Texas, since 1981. Mrs. Gilliam is a certified school teacher and
school librarian. They have two daughters and two grandchildren, all of whom reside in the DFW Metroplex.
