Siham Zakhary, LMSW, ACP, LMFT, ABECSW, LCDC, NCAC
Mrs. Zakhary received her Masters degree in Social Work from the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia,
Pennsylvania. She is a charter member of the Academy of Certified Social Workers, a Board Certified Diplomate in
Clinical Social Work, and is licensed in the state of Texas as a social worker and as an advanced clinical
practitioner. She is also licensed as a marriage and family therapist.
In the field of addiction, Mrs. Zakhary is a National Certified Addiction Counselor II. She is a licensed
chemical dependency counselor, and certified alcohol and drug counselor in the state of Texas.
Mrs. Zakhary has over twenty years of experience in the field of mental health as a therapist, consultant, and
trainer.
Before joining the nationally known Minirth Clinic, she was director of the chemical dependency program at the
Psychiatric Institute of Fort Worth, Texas. She was also with St. Joseph’s hospital in Fort Worth, and the heart of
Texas Region Mental Health & Mental Retardation Center in Waco, Texas. While in private practice in Waco, she
also held the position of Behavior Educational Therapist for a medical weight-loss center. She was later affiliated
with the Texas Youth Program as a child protective specialist.
Mrs. Zakhary’s counseling philosophy is based on the person’s physical, emotional, and spiritual needs. She
believes the purpose of therapy is to facilitate a more intimate relationship with Christ and others. She tries to
meet and recognize personal needs in an effective biblical manner. She believes that healing comes from being
approached spiritually, as well as emotionally. Mrs. Zakhary utilized individual, group, family, and marital
therapy to meet the client’s needs.
